After some two years the Southwark rooms has acquired a reputation of throwing some of the best parties in SE1…as a result, the lounge is showing “tell tail signs of, too many late nights and early mornings”.

Consequently the entire bar has undergone a “face-lift” for 2006. The space will be even more special for your corporate event.

Costing

Tired of organising parties with venues who don’t spell out the real cost? We at the Southwark rooms pride ourselves in working within your budget and have NO hidden costs. Please find attached costing for EXCLUSIVE use of the lounge, ground floor or the whole venue.


We charge no venue hire fee, however we do have a MINIMUM spend which varies from Monday through to Friday.

Listed below are minimum spends for the lounge bar (basement), ground floor and the entire venue.

General Information

Total capacity of venue is 160 guests.

The ground floor can host up to 60 guests, (we normally remove several tables and replace with sofa’s)

The lounge can host 100 guests, (if furniture is removed this number can rise to 120). However we as a rule prefer not to change furniture around.

Toilets are located on the lower ground floor. (If two parties are operating independently the toilets must be shared)

Sound System

We have a sound system, that would make many night clubs jealous…for full details, ask either for demonstration of quality of sound or a break down of equipment used on both floors

Please note that the music on both floors may operate independently.

We have a wide variety and style of d.j’s on our books and as part of our service, will arrange for you. Rates vary from £55.00 +vat per hour through to £80.00 +vat per hour.

Should you have professional d.j’s that you wish to use? We are happy to allow him to bring his equipment into the venue. He/she will be given 2 hours advance access to set up equipment.

We do not however allow our systems to be operated by non-professional D.j’s. should your professional d.j’s not have equipment. The cost to use our system is £150.00 +vat

Booking your function

Once you have decided that the Southwark room is your chosen venue.

WHAT HAPPENS THEN???

We will send you a letter via email confirming that you have “said date “
You or the events organiser will reply confirming in writing that you agree with the date reserved….

We will then ask for your menu’s and drinks packages etc….to be confirmed within 14 workings days.

We will then draft a legally binding contract. To protect both yourselves and the Southwark rooms. Included in this contract will be details of your evening…Food, drink, d.j’s entertainment, staffing etc….

Once both parties sign contract, you will have 7 working days to forward 30% deposit. With balance being paid on the night with a company chq, or you can BACS into our account 3 working days before your event.

Please note credit cards will be charged an extra, 3.5 % to cover banking charges levied upon us by banking institutions.

Catering Needs

At the Southwark rooms we have discovered that the best formula for a good party is fabulous food being circulated over the course of 2.5 hours. The waiters bring the food to you…. that way, you chat and dance with your friends…we do not offer a buffet menu.
